Orchard Hill Counseling Center is staffed by two Clinical Social Workers. At the present time one of the Clinical Social Workers, Rev. Sandra VanDenBrink (who is also a United Methodist Pastor) will provide counseling services on an appointment basis at East Nelson Church.<br/> <br/> Sandra is a Licensed Master Social Worker and also has a Master of Divinity degree. She offers counseling from a Christian perspective, and has over 30 years experience in the counseling field. Counseling is available for individuals, couples, and families for various situations, including; depression, anxiety, marital issues, family conflict, as well as spiritual concerns. Fees are on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. <br/> &quot;Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed as if given wings to fly above their troubles&hellip;&quot; - Written in 1998 by Janet Bristow who gave birth to this ministry.<br/> <b>Walt Ridout </b>- After receiving a Prayer Shawl from First UMC in Port Isabel, TX, I was so moved and comforted by it; I decided that East Nelson needed this Ministry and asked to start one here. You know the rest of the story. We have given away 21 shawls to date. The grants allow reconstruction of two schools in the Methodist Church of Haiti education system, Bois Gency and Hyacinthe, which were damaged in the earthquake.
