Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer ShawlsShawls have been made for centuries as universal & embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify.
"Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed as if given wings to fly above their troubles…" - Written in 1998 by Janet Bristow who gave birth to this ministry.
Walt Ridout - After receiving a Prayer Shawl from First UMC in Port Isabel, TX, I was so moved and comforted by it; I decided that East Nelson needed this Ministry and asked to start one here. You know the rest of the story. We have given away 21 shawls to date. If you know of a relative or friend in need, please let us know.
